Aw hell, ain't been around this dump in I don't know how long. Poke me head in and you old saps are gettin all sentimental. Man this bunch has gotten soft over the years. I sure do miss the old days too though. Guess I joined MDC's "experiment" back in 1999 and been a part of every subsequent version of The Cafe'.

It's odd to think about the countless hours I spent on the cafe' both at work and at home for many years and now I only pop in for a quick lurk once every 3-4 months. I really miss the flurry of posting activity and constant banter we once had, laughing until my sides hurt and all of the events and gatherings that never would have existed without this place. Most of all I miss the sense of community and brotherhood that we all shared.

If there's anything I've learned in life it's that nothing stays the same for long, life throws you curves and proprieties change. I know mine certainly has in the last 3 years and keeping up with the waterfowl community and finding time for hunting have fallen by the wayside. Duck hunting for me has become something that I just hope to be able to do a few times a season instead of being a way of life. Hope like hell I can turn that around in the future, but what saddens me the most is that I've lost touch with so many that I considered friends. Yeah, I've managed to stay in contact with a couple of you, and I might like a status or comment on a photo of a few others on Facebook, but I really need to do a better job of keeping in touch.

Dammit, now I've gone and gotten all sappy too and I've stayed up past my bedtime. Catch you hooligans later.
